Every birthing person deserves someone who serves them.

It is so nice to meet you.

Hi. I am Monique Salgado. I am a certified birth doula with DONA International. I am also a Certified Family Life Educator, a Certified Lactation Counselor and a Certified Infant Massage Instructor.
My journey with birthing-women began in 2014 in a year-long apprenticeship with a powerful 25 year birth doula veteran. I have 21 years of experience working in a childcare capacity with families and children and I was a nanny to three very precious little (grown-up) ones for 11 years, and these days along with birth work, I work as a parent companion for a family services agency.

I live by the creed that self-awareness begets other’s-awareness and both of those acts are empowered by love.

I serve families by seeking to learn and sense their unique needs, and then show up in the ways that do actually serve those needs. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Family Life Education and an Associate of Arts in Child Development, and I long to bring all that I am and know to the service of each client.

I have training experiences with topics and organizations from Spinning Babies, Breastfeeding LA, Parents as Teachers, Family Strengthening Network’s perinatal and maternal mental health, empathetic parent-child communication, bonding and attachment, Life Skills Progression, Cultural Competency, Motivational Interviewing, Perinatal Depression, Preventative Care, Prenatal and Postpartum care, Newborn Care, Reflective Practice, Engaging Fatherhood with Love Dad, Intentional Birth, and other content areas like trauma-responsive care, cultural humility, and neuro-physiological birth.

Join me for a conversation about how I can serve you, today.
